| Post subject: | Couple Disc Brake Conversion Q's |
Hello again Slant Sixers! I'll be converting my '67 Valiant over to disc brakes eventually and I'm in the parts collecting stage. I've got my upper control arms, spindles, and caliper brackets. Its been a couple years since I did this and disc brake A-bodies aren't getting any more popular in the junkyards, although they do pop up from time to time. First question, can I use a 80's Diplomat or New Yorker proportioning valve on my car, or do I need an A-body specific one? Am I correct in assuming I need to swap out the old drum brake one? Next question, is there a popular 11.75 rotor that I should use? I can go get parts store ones, but I saw on eBay they are offering drilled/slotted rotors for a little more than I'd spend at the local parts stores. Finally, I wanted to make sure these spindles won't bolt directly to the existing lower ball joint and that I need to use 1973-76 A-body/1970-1974 E-body ones. I guess that's it for now, but I'd be interested in any other thoughts or ideas you'd have. |

I'm pretty sure {not positive} you don't need to change the PV. I didn't when I put 74 discs on my 64. I did buy longer Volare hoses to hook up the discs. |
