Post subject:  /6 for 79-85 W150

Hello,
I have the chance to buy 76 and 77 slant 6 engines. They came out of a dodge aspen and plymoth volare(sp?). Would either of these work for a 79-85 w150 that came with a slant six? Will the 4 speed manual I have from a 79 bolt up to either of these? If not, what slants can I look for that will fit without motor mount modification.

Thanks,
Jason

They should just be sure you put in the pilot bearing for your manual trans.

So any year slant 6 should fit in any early 80's late 70's power wagon assuming the power wagon has the motor mounts placed for a slant 6 from the factory?

Thanks

1968 or newer, will fit. 1967 and older will fit , but needs the early flywheel. On either engine, you will need the correct motor mount brackets for the year/model truck. Also oil pan and pickup may need to be swapped to the truck units. There may or may not be some other things that need to be swapped from the engine being removed from the truck, to the engine being installed, but they are minor.
