Ok Gents, I am officially frustrated with the Holley on my 84 D150 ( Single barrel). I am looking for a reasonable aftermarket replacement since I have read all the horror stories about rebuilts and am gun-shy about even going that route. I have another engine I am rebuilding which has a two barrel Holley so I would like to get a two barrel for this truck and make or buy an adapter plate for two to one conversion. I am thinking I can get something descent for $250 or less. Please let me know if I am crazy or if there are recommended carbs to use with the old /6. Thanks so much Chuck |

I'm not sure if you can find one for less than $250, but you might. Weber makes 2bbl carbs, one of which is the 32/36 which you could use with a 2 to 1 adapter. You could also modify your 1bbl intake manifold, or you could find a 2bbl intake, but I know that some guys have used the 2 to 1 adapter on their 1bbl intake and were happy with it. You could also use a 2bbl carb made by Holley, or find an NOS Carter BBD. Later, Wes |
