i have a 1972 dart with a 198 ci engine.my carb was bad when i bought it. i bought a replacement carb for a 1972 at advance auto.i'm on my third carb after i get the new one next week.is there a difference with the carb from a 198/225? or they the same carb? i'm going nuts trying to keep this car running while it's in the body shop getting painted.i just put the sec  ond carb on the car,it started right up,than after sitting for a couple of days,it would crank up but wouldn't start.it wouldn't take any gas, even though i tried all the lines from the fuel pump to the carb and they were all spitting out gas.why wouldn't the carb get gas? what years are interchangeable on these cards? am i getting the wrong carb for my car? any help out there with this problem.
thanks
butch

The "rebuilt" carbs that the major parts houses sell are junk and I would not at all be surprised if all of the carbs you've bought have had major issues right out of the box.

You're better off finding a good used one and rebuilding it yourself with a quality kit, like a Walker.

The 1920s are so painfully simple that a rebuild job takes no time at all, even for a novice.

No difference in the 2 engines carbs. Ther is a sticky in the Engine section called FAQs go to the sticky and look at the carb training video for the 1920. Look it over then buy a kit and put it in.
Its not that hard,
Frank
