Is there a socket for the TF 904 front band adjustment screw? The screw has a square end and it is quite difficult to adjust the correct torque without a socket which fits in to that screw and torque wrench.
Where can you buy it?

a 8 point 1/4" socket should fit.

Break the locknut loose, screw the band adjuster down a good finger tight, back off 1-1/2 turns, tighten locknut.

8 point 5/16" socket.Most chinese 1,001 piece socket sets have these.Just remember the factory specs of 41 inch LBS then loosen it X amount of turns is for use with the factory adapter tool that alters the torque reading of your torque wrench.Check the 7 digit part # of your trans,then obtain the correct service manual for the model year.Then notice possible torque spec differances between S/6 and V-8 904 transmissions.

Thank you for the answers. We have two canditates, 8 point 1/4" and 8 point 5/16, I will try both and hopefully one of those will do the job.
I have the FSM and the correct torque spec.

Why wouldn't a 12 point work?
