Post subject:  Newbie & some questions...

Hello,

New to the forum but have "lurked" for a while. I recently bought a '66 Dart Wagon with the "leaning tower of power" and bought it because it is identical to the one I grew up in 40 years ago! My father taught me to drive in the same vehicle so this car has plenty of sentimental value to me.

It is in remarkable shape having spent the last 20 years in the New Mexico/Texas border desert area. Still has quater panel rust, but nothing else. Just need to get it running better and start refurbishing it.

To that point and my questions, it has dealer-installed AC (which still blows!) and the strangest lower radiator hose I've ever seen. It wraps around the timing chain area, crosses in front of the motor and meets the radiator neck on the Driver's side! My radiator looks original and even has "AC" stamped on it. But I cannot find a similar hose. Anyone got a lead??

Secondly, are the sedan and stationwagon gas tanks the same, ie., the necks enter the tank in the same area?

Thanks and I look forward to getting her back into shape with all of your help

Sounds like you have a 69/earlier V8 radiator in it.

Very well could be a v8 radiator. I'm really stumped on the lower radiator hose though. It is molded, not the flex type and appears to be designed for slant six and a lower outlet on driver's side??? I've tried searching other for other applications, like Dodge trucks w/ slant sixes and can't find a similar one?

Is there a place to buy a molded hose for a slant six to V8 radiator??? If so I would be in need of this. :)
