Ron Parker won the slant 6 race this weekend. Charlie S. was runner up. Ron Hamby won the 2002 points race when Rodney relighted at 4 cars. I counted 14 cars lined up for the first round.

Was in such a hurry Friday morning that I forgot the digital camera. I will try and do better for Richmond.

Thanks for the up-date Tom, how did the turbo car run?
14 cars for a first time race is a good turn-out, I will try to get more info on what all happened over the weekend.

Dad's car ran well. It clicked off about 4-5 7.10's in a row during the heat of the day. As the night wore on it picked up and ran a 6.99 on the last pass he made. The track was really starting to come around. He had a bye run at 13 cars and had a .499 red. So I added .005 to the box. At 7 cars he had another .499 red. Guess the pit crew should have added .006. Always next time. The car is really fun to drive. Hopefully at Richmond he can get an official 10 sec run.

Hope to see everyone in a few weeks.

Thanks for the update, Tom. Congrats, Ron!

I tried to get my '64 ready to go, but couldn't get the bellhousing aligned right and had a vibration. My '68 still has the low-power problem from Clay City and I haven't had time to work it out. I'll be at Richmond for sure.

Slant on!

Lou

Your right no presure from bagel bomber. It was my day the car was dead on all day and who i raced they made a worse mistake than i did. The car saved my butt. Thanks to all our sponsers and the racers that came. Next year we are going to make this a 2000 dollar race. Next year we are going to have a Gary Bruner built engine in the car and hope we can be more competive than this year. So load and lock bagel bomber i am coming after you. Ron, I haven't talked to Mike yet to see if that's true. After that run at St. Louis I wouldn't doubt it though. Mike and Blaine are working on a new head for me. I'm gonna try and have a new bullet in the Duster when it debuts next year. Bagel

Congats, to Ron and Ron. Ron Parker and I had a great run. As he said, others made more mistakes then him. I ran out, with a 8.239 on a 8.25 dial, on a 550 light. Didn't think it would go that quick with a blown head gasket. I did have a great weekend. The car was more consistant, and so was I. Want to thank the sponsors, and every one who worked on setting the race up.
