Ok napa has some 1/4 studs all coarse thread and
an inch and a 1/4 long. Great for studding valve covers
or oil pans. Also they have a really cool coupling nut
1/4 coarse thread but its only 3/8 hex. Also have found
wire spiral loom in fifty and twenty foot lenghts made by
Grote.

If you want coarse thread valve cover studs you can just use 1/4" set screws and LockTite them in place. When I put in studs for my V8's valve covers I used regular coarse/fine studs with fine threaded nuts. Portland has an excellent hardware store Parkrose Hardware. It's superior to any other hardware store I've found for fasteners.

Any auto parts outlet that carries the "Dorman" line, or fastener supply that caters to the commercial/industrial market should be able to fix you up with just about any stud you might want.
