Has anybody tried to put a "66" vintage 318 polysphere in a 1964 A body. My slant is doing fine runs like a champ, but I have a chance to pick up a polysphere and trans cheap and might want to put it in something in a few years after rebuilding it. Is this going to be a easy swap or will it be a big job. Thanks Joe |

LA engines don't fit very nice. Well, they fit fine, but there isn't much room to spare. Ever see the early A-body driver's side exhaust manifold? The Poly head A engine will be worse. You're welcome to do whatever you like, but I'm not that kind of masochist. |

My uncle put a 392 in a '63...the poly 318 will just be as bad... you'll need to get out the torch and hammer...the poly does not have a good/reliable source for performance parts sadly enough. -D.Idiot |
