Hi, I can possibly get hold of an engine to use as a rebuild 'blank'. It has the tube-less cylinder head. How can I tell the seller to find out if it has hydraulic or mechanical lifters? Thanks a lot, 60 Ply |

The heads with hydraulic lifters has a different valve cover if I remember correct. |

When you say the front of the engine, do you mean the front of the block casting? Whereabouts? I'll ask the seller if he can get hold of a picture. |

Easiest way is to look at the side of the block, under the manifolds, for the casting date. |

The valve cover and head is wider on Hydraulic engines. The "dog-leg" notch is on the lower, front right corner of the head/valve cover. DD |
