My Slant six in my '64 Dart developed a rod knock from bad roads, racing, and stupidity. Right now I have the choice between a junkyard slant from a '71 dart with 90,000 miles or a short block trade in at Kragen. I also have a four barrel intake or a super six setup at my disposal. My goal is a mild street setup with a lot of torque but able to cruise on the freeway at 90 mph. Suggestions to a 17 year old working for minimum wage on intake, cam, head, and exaust choices. godsownprototype@hotmail.com |

The quick and easy would be the remanufactured shortblock/longblock...it'll save you time, from pulling the engine and waiting in line at the machine shop, and ordering parts... If the block is all put together o.k, you can just bolt in all your parts, set it up, and go...(it's a little more complex than that...but not too bad). Your decision will come down to time, money, shop space, and patience/skill.... -D.Idiot res0aus2@verizon.net |
