| Post subject: | Finding dash heater hoses? |
I'm looking around for the hoses for my '66 Dart's under-dash heater/defroster. Can anybody give me a part number or suggest a way to ask for these hoses without the parts store thinking I'm talking about hoses under the hood? |

Heater duct hose or defrost vent hose. They have generic cut to length pieces. Problem with those is they are the same diameter from start to finish. I don't know about a 66, but on my 71 one end was a different diameter then the other. On the bigger end I cut two slits on opposing sides then used a ziptie to compress them. |

Thanks Pierre, hopefully this will help save me some time next call I make.Quote: I don't know about a 66, but on my 71 one end was a different diameter then the other.
On the '66, it looks like I have 3 different diameters... the two vents in the dash being the largest, and the lower heater outlets are different sizes... talk about a pain. The old nasty (and useless) ones that were there before had a clamp on either end of the hose, do they not make these anymore?

I purchased new heater air duct for my 67 a few years ago. I have looked and can not find where I got them. Receipts are still packed away somewhere from the move. I do remember that there was a reducing rubber bushing that adapted duct to heater box. From a search on line, ducting is available for 67 and up from several of the classic air venders. Perhaps you could give one of them a call for advice. |

I found a post on FABO that linked to this adaptor. Is this what you were referring to wjajr? Looks like I can do the job for about $20. I wish I could find the ducts with adjustable ends like the original ones |

I measured the diameter of the hole at the bottom of the box. Bought a tube at the parts store that fit that and then found out that the other side of the tube didnt fit on the outside of my dash vents. Was going to take it back when I decided to just push the tube on the inside of the vent and it's a perfect fit. You'd think that it would restrict air flow but its just a tight fit that I can't even tell the difference at all. |

Yup, it looked a lot like that, a big old chunk of rubber…
