Post subject:  How to fix sagging exterior door?

I have an exterior door that is sagging such that the weatherstripping no longer fits and the latch barely lines up with the plate anymore. It has enough "give" to lift it to where it should be. It appears that the "give" is within the hinge (I put 3" screws in the upper hinge to better secure and it made no difference)

if replacing the bolts doesn't seem to tighten it i wonder if the metal around where the hinge sits is damaged. usually the door sags when either bolts have rusted and broken off or have backed them selves out enough that the door sags (usually all the way out or really close).

what car do you have? also how long has it been sagging?

if you know how to do it
might want to grab a friend and a jack (with something soft on it to protect the door from being damaged) and take it off to see whats going on.

Yes, if there is nothing visibly wrong with the way the hinges are attached to the body, you probably just need a hinge pin kit. Usually go between $10-15.

after re-reading -- I do not think this is for car advice-- curious to see if any response from original poster.

You're right, I should have read it more closely instead of skimming over it. Looks like spam and should probably get deleted.
