my motor and trans i beleive is out of a late 70s ramcharger 4x4.theres a adapter between the transfer case and tranny.im just wondering if theres bearings in there? or is it just housing for the shaft?

Yes there's a bearing,and it's important,it controls endplay in the trans. FYI,the inner shaft can't be removed w/o dissassembling the trans

alrite i have a grinding noise that only pops up once in a wile ,usually wen its realy pushing ,going up hills usually.if i slide the transfer case off will i be able to change the bearings?

p.s the grinding noise it was making sounded like a steel pipe being draged across concrete
