I am not sure on the 2bbls but the 4bbl Carters the number is also stamped on the area near the throttle plate. Be that as it may most rebuild kits cover many models and you will always have extra parts left over. If this is a 2bbl from a super six set up most likely any kit for that application will work-you just will not know which specs to adjust to. So when you take it apart measure everything, write it down, take photos and then clean and re assemble.

'66 or newer Up to 70-71-72?

'65 was the first year for the PCV fitting. They hand no provision for attaching an air cleaner. They used a band that tightend arounf the neck.

I think '73 was the first year of the plastic fitting on the top for the bowl vent.

Air metered carb. Parts won't swap with a super six. Rods and jets won't swap.

It would be a good carb for a slant.

That is possibly for a Poly 318.

If there isn't a tag there is no way to tell the model.

When rebuilding the carb you need to flatten the top of the fuel bowl, and the carb top. I give mine a ride on the stationery belt sander.

I have some NOS Mopar kits for that style carb.

If you want a kit they are $15+ USPS I will be home middle of next week.

when u plan to go through that carb, take it off, take it to ur local parts house, and let them tell u what it is. go to a real parts place, not an O'rielly or the like.

i have one very similar to this and i still don't know what it's application is/was. but i was able to get a rebuild kit. now i keep it as a spare.

The kits from Autozone aren't bad. I rebuilt a '65 model for the Duster with one of their kits.

I have the part number at home. I bought a couple before getting the Mopar kits.

SAVE YOUR ORIGINAL GASKETS TO MATCH THEM UP WITH THE NEW STUFF

The generic kits will come with extra pieces. Lots of extra pieces with subtle differences.

Does it say Carter on it? Just asking because the poly's and early 273's had Stromburg carbs that were similar. They didn't have air cleaner studs and a band held the cleaners on. Stromburgs are(were) very good carbs.Got two of them. I don't have a super six intake to see if they would bolt on though.

Yes they will bolt on. I had a friend that lent me a Stromberg and it performed as good as my 2280 Holley at the time.

There is a Stromberg out there with a 3 bolt base. It won't fit.

Really for the price that new carb is a steal! If I had the money I would snag a bunch of those.

Every BBD I have has a worn out throttle shaft on the passenger side.

Someone ought to try one out. Those carbs would be so easy to duplicate.

Really neat if they interchange parts like my dad's .45 !911 Colt copy
