Yep it's pricey! Thought I would throw this out there to those of you that don't go to Moparts. com This guy can build you a nice 833OD.

http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/sho ... =0&fpart=1

It a complete set up, shifter included. No cutting of the floor, etc.

Are there any good clutch discs in the 18 spline variety, that are 10" or under? Just wondering or it won't work to well behind a slant 6. The Tranny looks pretty nice.

That my question too. I am sure we could get one made without too much expense.

That would hold up to a turbo slant nicely.

It ought to be really nice for $4295. I'll cut my floor and use a T5. I want a lower 1st gear anyway. I think the mid 1990s Mustang V6 T5 is geared just about perfect for a warmed up 225.

No, but if you use and adaptor and a small block bell, or an NP truck bell you can bolt a big block clutch plate and 18 spline disc to the large truck flywheel....which isn't going to save on weight...

Sounds nice, but... ouch.

Yeah it is a little ouchy, but if you want to run a Slant 6 car with slicks and a 5-speed a T-5 will not hold up. A tremec probably will but it is $3400 plus it is not a simple bolt in. This sounds like a sturdy tranny just like some of us may need. Us as in Ryan! :D

Thats a lot of bux for an unproven , external shifter trans.

I could go through a lot of T5s for that money.

The biggest slant 5 speed problem is clutches. .....and this trans requires an 18 spline clutch disc. What slant PP does that work with?

Probably get one hell of a launch once you get it spinning! Small block bell would interfere with my headers.

I had been waiting to hear more on this one too. First I saw the price. If it come in at $2300 that would be a sweet deal.

Yeah, I'll have to wait and see if anyone elses 5-speed will come out and be any good.
I also mentioned the M-800 in that thread before the price of Passon was posted and before they moved the thread from the 'General' section to the 'New Products' section.

For stating my thoughts I got flammed by pretty much everyone else including Rug Trucker who said "If you can't afford it? Shut up!"

Mind you not once did I ever say anything derogatory towards Jamie, his company, or his new transmission.
I just mentioned that I hope between his transmission and the McLeod M-800, and maybe a new RS-600 that someone mentioned will hopefully lead to me one day affording a good/strong 5-speed that'll hold up to my mild cars and not have to chop up the entire floor to fit it in.

I don't think my comments were directed at you Daniel. Some of those people over there needed to not even comment. I can't afford a Hemi but I don't diss the price.

Same old whiney crap they are sitting at home on the key board instead of out in the shop. They have cabin fever and are tired of looking at the wife.

The tremec 5spds are not that expensive. I think a T45 is around $1400 new and the big boy TKOs are around $1700?

Really? Ive seen 450+ hp ford six's running the T5 and slicks without issues. Can you elaborate?
