They had a hotel in Richmond and left their car/trailer at the track. I think they might've just headed home in the morning though. The weather seemed OK that night and the next morning in Chapel Hill at least. Cheers, Lou |

We stayed over and Gordie ended up staying over. He had planned to leave early Sunday morning for Fla. but when we arrived he was warming up the car for the race. We stayed because MCG wanted to shoot some pictures of the car. When we left around 1:30 Gordie was still in the race. Tom Drake http://www.drakecoatings.com drakecoatings@aol.com |

(Gilly) reported that Gordie went to the final in one of the brackets on Sundy. (Sportmans or "No-box" or what ever the called it at Richmond) He broke-out by .0003 to take 2nd place money (ouch, that's racing) I will have to tlak to Gordie to see if he had the other guy "covered" on the tree. Here is Gilly's info.: DD ----------- Tom Jr and I went out today. Had a great time. Gordie Stevens was the only /6'er still there (to the best of my knowledge). He "hooked-up" his 4 bbl and was turning 14.03's like clockwork. He gave everyone quite a show, breaking-out in the final with a 14.027 on a 14.03 dial-in. We spoke to him after the race. What a nice guy!... Gilly Richmond Photo Gallery |

Dr D., When I spoke with Gordie, he mentioned that the brain said "lift" but the right foot failed to respond. Yeah, I think he had him covered at the top end. He cut a heck of a light. Gilly Quote:

I have to thank Gordie Stevens for "sticking around" Richmond for Sunday's racing, just to keep all those V8 guys "in check" and honest about the "Leaning Tower of Power". DD Richmond Gallery
