I purchased this headlight switch off Rock Auto for my 1965 Chrysler Valiant (Australian).Everything else is the same,ie dimensions, number of pins for wiring loom plug.
But it has one extra pin (as per photo)
Can anyone tell me if this pin should run to ground or is it for something else?
On my 1965 Australian Valiant the headlight switch grounds on the inside of the dashboard metal,it doesn't have the extra pin.
Cheers
Greg

To simplify the parts line, it is not uncommon to stick in features unused on some models. From the picture it looks to be an extra ground and I'd leave it disconnected, but you could deterine what it connects to (if anything) using a multimeter in a few seconds.

I've traded a number of headlight switches around on various 60's and 70's Mopars I own. Some had that pin, some didn't. Nothing was ever hooked to it on any of my rigs. Just hook your factory wiring plug up to the new switch, and you should be good to go.
