Dont know how to post a photo,but it is a fitting that screws into the float bowl in the 1 bbl carb and has a small metal plunger on it. Im thinking it is sticking and causing a fuel starvation problem that I have. Can I get a new one or can I use a fitting without that plunger thing on it. The car is a 73 and I'm wondering if this fitting is some kind of California emmision thing I can eliminate |

Posting a photo can be done through a photo hosting site, like Photobucket.com Use the links provided when you put a photo up there to share them with us. Just try to keep the size within reason. There are a couple things it could be, depending on which carburetor you have. There are links to carburetor manuals in the "Frequently Asked Questions" thread near the top of this topic area. It may be a bowl vent valve, or it could be an accelerator pump plunger. You will need the accelerator pump, and the bowl vent is neccessary for correct operation of some carburetors. Determine which carburetor you have, and look up the manuals. A carburetor rebuild kit will contain parts to rebuild the accelerator pump. I don't know about the bowl vent. CJ Edit: It could also be a primary enrichment valve if you have a carter. |

Its inline after the inlet pipe,nothing to do with bowl vent or accelerater pump. |

does it look like this ? if so,it is the needle valve that shuts off the fuel flow when the float bowl of the carburettor is to its full,or required level. commonly called a "needle and seat". readily available as a service part. regards,Rod
