I have just acquired a set of 1.6:1 rocker arms for the Slant Six and was wondering just how much lift can I get if I have 9.0 - 9.5:1 compression...

You'll run the valve spring retainer into the top of the guide long before the valve gets close to the piston on a 225. I have .100" taken off the tops of the valve guides on my performance heads. If you want an actual maximum lift number you'll have to mock it up and measure, but it's highly unlikely any cam you'd use on a 9.5:1 or lower compression engine is going to have a valve to piston clearance problem.
