Got the RV15/295 installed, working on checking specs. So far here's what I've got. Been checked and double checked...triple checked even...verified and nothing but frustration as my specs don't match the cam card specs......It seems I've got @.050 durations of an RV10/295 cam, yet my opening and closing timing specs of the RV15/295. Here's what I've measured: Intake Duration @ .050" is 210 opens -2 btdc closes 32 atdc lift .287" Exhaust Duration @ .050" is 212 opens 42 closes -9 lift .293" Please, no need to ask who, what, where, when and why on tools I'm using, my experience degreeing, etc, etc This has been installed straight up at this point. Can anyone confirm "what we got here"?? I think it ain't what I ordered |

Here are the specs: RV10/295 RV15/295 I agree with you on the duration. I'll need to reboot to access my Dyno2000 program to run the cam calculator. |

Ok, I get Intake lift .4305 Exhaust lift .4395 Intake duration 210 Exhaust duration 213 Intake centerline 107 Lobe seperation 111.3 The RV10/295 specs agree with the dyno200 calculator and The RV15/295 specs agree with the dyno200 calculator I'd say it's a RV10 intake lobe MP244 exhaust lobe ground on the standard Erson 254 lobe separation of 111 with 4 degrees of advance built in... So it's a bastard step child that doesn't match anything............ |

Either way that cam and your proposed build should be ok, it'll have a smooth idle and a big fat torqueband...The 111 LSA might cause a bit more cylinder pressure due to the very short overlap event, so you will want to dial your distributor in to keep pinging down. -D.Idiot |

Talk to erson and either get the correct cam or if you think you can use the cam, get a huge rebate........ |

Thinking about it, erson may have changed the original exhaust lobe on the E254 to the Mopar lobe. So it may be the current E254 (RV10), and not custom at all. |

Just curious did they get the oil holes on the rear cam journal correctly drilled? |

It's coming out and going back. I believe I'll be talking to someone at Erson on monday and see about getting what I ordered asap. Severely disappointed to say the least. |

How would you go about bench testing the specs of a cam before installation? |

Could be the case, but the cam card shows specs for the RV15/295 grind, and the cam has those same grind#'s stamped on the rearend, yet it does'nt match most of the specs given. So it may be the current E254 (RV10), and not custom at all. Card shows: RV 15M F212/295 LSA 110 intake opens -1 intake closes 39 duration @ .050" 218 lift .290" exhaust opens 36 exhaust closes -4 duration @ .050" 212 lift .295" My @.050" numbers vs. theirs are way off: intake opens/closes off by 1/7 degrees exhaust opens/closes off by 5/6 degrees Also, regarding how I have it installed: retarding it 2-4 degrees (as recommended for my build by Doc) which would get it in the ballpark on one would just put it way off on the other, it's just the wrong grind. |

Those card specs match the RV15/295 specs in the previously posted link without the 4 degrees of advance built in.... 110 lobe center and 110 centerline vs 110 and 106. Somebody screwed up............ |

Is the end of the cam stamped with a grind or part number? |

Your link is about getting the correct exhaust lobe pattern. In this case it seems the correct exhaust lobe pattern was used, but everything else is wrong............ |
