You might want to check out the articles section.....I think Doc posted an article. I'm in work on a conversion, and am still digging up salvage yard parts, trying to build one by doing a cut/trim/fit/braze kind of thing. I'm also working on an article from a nuts & bolts perspective on the conversion.

I can tell you to stay away from Ford fuel rails, as all the nipples are "bent" at a slight angle on the rail, and won't work in straight line setup. The same goes for 3.0 V6 Mopar rails. I am, at this time, working on a Mopar 3.3 V6 fuel rail to see if it will work.

I have not had the opportunity to examine a Ford straight 6 rail, nor GM either. I'm trying to stay away from import rails, as most of them seem to be extruded aluminum, and I don't have the equipment to weld aluminum, nor the skills.

I think that if I were to attempt to build my own fuel rail that I'd look into the flexible hose mounting system sold by MSD ignition. Go to www.msdignition.com and type "fuel rail" in the search box. The flexible system is described under #4. This still isn't cheap, about $250 for a set of eight. Maybe you could get six for a little less.
