Post subject:  problems with new fuel injectors

I find alot more problems with new fuel injectors then you might think. Weather I am selling 1 or 2 new fuel injectors or a set I always perform a flow test to make sure they match with the other fuel injectors. Most times it was a good thing I did.
The problems that I have found have been
1. The new fuel injector has a stuck solenoid and wont spray, I can usually fix that problem.
2.The flow at wide open throttle or low cruising speed does not match the other fuel injectors and must be run threw a few cleaning cycles or replaced.

That doesn't mean that every set of new fuel injectors won't work correctly, I just see alot more fuel injectors then most.

I have had to go through 10 new fuel injectors for a turbo charged Dodge Neon so I could get 4 fuel injectors that flowed correctly.

Because of this I perform a large volume of injector flow testing for a company that sells supercharger kits. They sell new fuel injectors with this kit but I flow each fuel injector to place them in matched sets that flow within 1cc of each other. We do find some that are ether lean or richer then the other fuel injectors. By selling these kits with matched fuel injectors they are selling a top notch product with no problems.

Thanks for your thoughtful response. Will contemplate...

I have 38 lb injectors on my 68 turbo Dart, and I'm thinking I may need bigger ones before long (280 HP @ 2100 ft track and upgrades coming). Idle is a bit rough, but still tracking down other possibilities. Bought a set of 8 by Ford Racing, so could test and mix and match.
