Hey I have a 340 question if that's ok. been rebuilding one for a while and its about time to hook it to the 904 I have. What size stall converter should I put in there? Can I use the stock one I have? I dont know what the 904 was previously hooked to a 318, or a 360. Don't know. If I have to get a new one, How does a smaller sized torque converter help?

thanks ya'll God Bless

Keni

The desired torque converter stall speed if heavily dependent upon cam duration, compression ratio, rear axle ratio and usage (street/strip/towing). Let us know what you've got.

A 360 toque converter will have weights welded on. You can remove the weights if you're careful.

A smaller diameter torque converter is more efficient at higher stall speeds.
