| Post subject: | KH vs Mopar DB spindles |
Can anyone get me some dimensional numbers(bearing i.d.s/o.d.s) to look at for comparison. I have '72 KH 4 pistons and want to get dropped spindles. My idea is to either machine the spindles or get bearings with corresponding i.d./o.d.. So my only hang up would be length of spindle or undersized spindle o.d.. Also would the KH caliper mount up? I don't want to start all over on my brake set up but it's looking more like I'll have to. |

If you'd ever looked at both spindles you'd know that trying to use a later model spindle with all the earlier model parts is going to be costly in time and money. If all you want to do is lower the car then trim the lower control arm bumpers and adjust the torsion bars. You'll probably need larger torsion bars to keep from bottoming out, but that's how it goes. If you can't get low enough by trimming the bump stop there are aftermarket lower control arms which provide greater clearance to the chassis. |

I don't have two to put side by side, that's why I'm asking for dimensions. |

Problems you'd have to solve: Both ball joints are different and changing the upper means changing the control arm. Inner wheel bearings are different. You can't bolt the K-H caliper to the later spindle. Have fun! |
