So i attempted to rebuild my carb today...everything went fine except two things. First and most concerning, i seem to be missing the "power valve piston modulator rod and retainer". Were there any aplications where these parts were not included? ![]() How critical is this part? the carb has worked ok for the last several years, never the smoothest running or idling, but ran ok none the less. The second problem, and reason for disasembling, was the floats rubbing on the side of the bowl and causing fuel starvation or flooding. I have ordered a new float to take care of that problem. |

Yes. The Federal models didn't have them. That was a California thing. CJ |

You might find the Chrysler Training film link you can browse to in the FAQ handy. There is a link Dan Supplied specific to the 1945. CJ |

Hey, thanks! glad to know i'm not missing a part in there! yeah i watched that film a couple of times before i pulled the carb, very helpful. That also confirms a suspicion i had that the carb had been replaced at some point, because the car was originally sold here in CA, so it shouldn't have a federal carb if it were original... |
