The power of a buzzin' half dozen! The exhaust is all finished, split manifolds into 2" header pipes that dump into a 3" H-pipe with dual converters, the gases pass into a pair of Thrush Hush mufflers and then exit via the tailpipes. That is water vapor coming out of the pipes.

I am a little concerned about ground clearance but we will see. The pipes where on my '69 340 Dart so I thought I would try them on my '75 Swinger.

Nice sound - you're making me anxious for summer (you and the nice 45 degrees we had yesterday)

dude0936,

What manifolds are they? Got a photo of them?

I have a 74 Swinger......just curious what might fit around the steering box with out hitting.

Got another shot from under the car of the routing of the duals and "H" pipe?

Thanks,

Post subject:  The exhaust

The exhaust manifolds are a Dutra casting for the front three cylinders and the factory log style manifold modified by cutting off the front three cylinders and welding the hold closed. I still have the heat riser and EGR in the back manifold. I made pipes (2") that I fed down to the H-pipe, one pipe was snaked between the oil pan and the transmission bell housing and both are run into my TTI 3" H-pipe. I added two spun cats to the H-pipe and then the exhaust goes into 3" Thrust Hush "turbo" mufflers and then dumps into the 3" tail pipes. The exhaust is a touch low, so I am a bit concerned about ground clearance and the huge pipes may have hurt my exhaust velocity and that may effect the driveability of the Swinger. The 3" pipes were once on my '69 340 Dart, I removed them a long time ago so the pipes were just laying around so I am giving them a try on the Slant, just to see how they work.

Here are some pictures from the finished exhaust to the start of the project: http://s748.photobucket.com/albums/xx12 ... 20exhaust/

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Great shots and nice work...now you need to exchange the A/C pump for a turbo then the pipe size will be perfect! :D
