Has anyone used a FAST EZ-EFI unit on a slant six yet?

Not to my knowledge.

Nope, but it looks like you could rig something up with their multi-port set-up using the same size injectors as the v8's you have to steal them from. Frankly, I wouldn't go this route. I love the idea of the FAST EZ-efi and don't think it is that expensive for efi, but it's almost have to be a 350 size engine and such.... oh well

IF you can put a 500 cfm 4 barrel on a Slant six, I'm sure the EZ-EFI unit would be better and more efficient given the injectors are computer controlled and it's optimized for best air/fuel mixture. I'm planning a Hyper Pack 225 with the FAST unit in mind. A camshaft with a little attitude and a 4 spd stick and the turn-out should be right as rain.

Yeah, give it a try! I'm a little worried that your comparing a 500cfm Edelbrock carb to four (4) 65lb injectors? Just to give you a ratio my efi runs twin 55lbs off of a 350 and has never has cycle duty problems!

This system is design off of the 350 and has feed some 600hp big block (according to the vette guys), I wonder if Fast has some smaller injectors?

I wouldn't doubt it. I've sent some correspondence their way asking just such a question; I'm awaiting their reply. I'm sure the system can be modified. I'm also curious as to when they come up with a blow-through unit for Forced Induction applications.

I remember that article, the gains they achieved by using multiport injection were pretty solid over a carb. Unfortunately, that setup is the more expensive option. If I had the dollars to do it, I'd give it some serious consideration.

If cost is in consideration, than the EZ-EFI still isn't the greatest option. My buddy is planning this for his 360 Dart and he is going to be in the whole setup for over $2000. Call me crazy but that is more than I've spent on both my slant six and tranny stuff.

However, it would still be a great deal if you could get some smaller injectors in it and have them change the basic fuel requirement in the program, than it should be a great easy set-up.

My Ford friend is pretty warm on the EEC-4 engine management and they made them for a 300cid 6 cylinder truck. He likes the self adjusting feature, basically it learns and tunes itself to the application. I looked at the schematic and it does show a vehicle speed sensor though, which might be a little sticky to rig up. The 8.8 rear has a sensor and wheel off the ring gear..There is always megasquirt V2.x at $110 for a kit. Not bad, but that is only the driver, you need to supply all the other sensors and injectors, plus HP pump. It adds up.

I have not used the FAST products but I did just put on an EFI kit from professional products (professional-products.com). The kit i bought is a Powerjection 3 that bolts to a 4brrl intake. This kit seems like a simpler setup than the FAST and is easy to install. I think it is cheaper also. The longest part was running all new fuel lines and returns for the fuel pump and fuel injection return. After I got the system bolted on, hooked up the 5 wires I plugged in my laptop and set it up for a 6 cylinder with 300ft lbs of torque, I also set it on the auto learn. After that I hit the key and it fired right up, I let it idle about 5 minutes, then took it out on the road. It pulled very strong up to about 5500 rpms and ran smoothly. It did have a mild "sputtering" because I had some vac ports unplugged. It is supposed to self learn as you drive, so I need to get it out and run it now that the vacuum leaks are fixed. You can also use Professional products EFI kit with a blow through turbo charger up to about 21 pounds of boost, which is what I am hoping to do down the road. I have less than 20 minutes driving experience with this kit so I can not give any experienced advice yet, but so far it seems to work well.

Because I have a repair shop and a tax license I got set up as a dealer with them (mainly for personal use) but I get a good discount on the products and can order anything for anyone who is interested. I will keep you updated as I get to test it more. I need to put a transmission in the dart before I can do any more testing so it may be a week or 2 before I really get to put some time on it.

Very nice. Please, let us know how it develops for you. Any particular changes you've noticed after long term driving?

That product learns even under boost? That is impressive, but I was nervous that the computer was under the hood.
