I don't know a lot about transmissions. I have a slant six in my 1985 d100 dodge pickup. It has an automatic transmission. Is there any way I could drop in a manual? I know it would be a lot of work, I'm just wondering.

hey, well i havent converted my 87 (came factory with a stick) but if you can find a donor truck that has a slant and a stick, you have it made because it sure aint that hard to do.... Justin |

The best way is to find a Van or 2WD PU with an 833 4spd or "833OD" 4spd and pull all tranny/clutch-related parts from it. Swapping these things around is not too bad on pickups, although it will take some work. Make sure to get everything - including crossmember, shifter, pedals, clutch linkage, driveshaft... There should be a fair number of these things in the junkyards if you look around. Lou |
