Post subject:  Ignition shorting to left turn signal

Ok, this is a weird one. I have a 1975 Dodge Dart. Wonderful car except for this little problem. When the accelerator pedal is quickly depressed from idle the left turn signal indicator on top of the fender illuminates. If the car is driving down the road and you decide to step-on-it, the left turn signal indicator illuminates. I have looked for a bad spot in the wiring harness, checked ground connections ( the ones I could find) and have had no luck. Anyone have a good schematic which might help me identify wires? Better yet, anyone know what and where the problem might be?

There's no short circuit or wiring fault. Your car is equipped with the "Fuel Pacer" system, an optional bit of equipment which looks at manifold vacuum and when it drops to a low value (as when you floor the gas) illuminates the left fendertop turn signal repeater to let you know you are driving "fuellishly".
