I noticed a fuzzing noise coming from under my dash on my way to work this morning. It sounds like speaker fuzz, but the car doesn't have front speakers. It kind of sounds like a vacuum leak. I opened the hood and listened, and didn't hear anything that was out of place.

Yesterday I advanced the base timing, and I also wired up a horn switch to bypass the buttons on the steering wheel, because they are stuck down and the horn just goes off. I spliced the switch into the horn wire that goes into the bulkhead, through the firewall. I have the other end of the switch going into the fusebox, with a fuse holding the wire in temporarily. Once I get a button instead of a toggle switch for the horn I'll wire it in more neatly. I don't know if either of these things would cause this noise, but I didn't notice it yesterday; just this morning.

Is there anything under the dash that would sound like a vacuum leak?

The defogger on some cars is vacuum operated, might be worth a look.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm assuming I knocked something loose wiring in the horn. It's kind of a mess under the dash.
