Hi Guys, What can you tell me about this engine from the block casting number? 4095530 I'm about 300 miles from the engine but if the price is right then it'd be well worth me picking up, these engines are few and far between this side of the pond. Thanks a lot, 60 Ply |

Hmmm, checked through the two sections in there and couldn't find it. I've searched for the number elsewhere and haven't turned anything up. If I find anything else I'll post it. |

That is an interesting casting number... one I have not seen in the past. The 40XXXXX would indicate something released in the mid seventies. Is this number casted into the side of the block? DD |

Doug might that be from RSA? I think they had some casting number like that. Frank |

'82 passenger car parts catalogue lists 4095 527 as a vibration damper and 4095 776 as a cylinder head for a 225, doesn't have a p/n for the bare block, just for the short block assembly. Part numbers often aren't the same as casting numbers, but they are frequently within a few digits. I am with Doug; guessing late '70s or early '80s RG cast-crank block. |

Sounds good guys, Got a few more points to add - the engine has just been removed from a camper (dodge 50?), however, this is NOT the original motor in that van. The seller also says he believes the trans is a 727 - presumably this makes the combo a truck/heavy duty package? I suppose the engine could be non-original but from another dodge 50 given the spec. |
