Post subject:  Lukus Bruner - Maynardville, TN

Lukus Bruner is the next generation of Bruner race car fabricators in Maynardville, TN. He has been helping his Dad, Meril Bruner for many years and is now taking more of the lead role.

He just helped me out by replacing the roll bar, floors and trunk in the GodsRods Duster II.

Lukus has the tools and shop and can do quite a bit of fabrication work:

Rust repair
Tub work
Roll cage
Aluminum on the inside
Lexan windows
Installing anything on cars
(The only thing he doesn't want any part of is the body work)

He charges $30 - $35 an hour on labor for all of the metal type work. Less if he doesn't have to use a helper.

You can PM him here or call/email him:

Thanks Rob,
Thanks for starting the thread I normally charge 20- 25 dollars an hour for myself that covers me and the shop overhead. When I do use a helper I pay my people 10 dollars an hour so yes that makes it 30-35 in those cases. We do our best to be as fair as possible and dock the any time that we break. That is something my dad has always been big on not charging for breaks.
All of my helpers know what they are doing and do not spend time standing around either which helps with not running the cost up.

one other thing that I forgot to tell Rob that we can do is shorten Mopar 8 3/4 rear ends as well as ford 9 inch. I cannot spline the axles but can shorten the housings. However any of the things that I can't do like spline the axles, balance drives shafts, and so forth I have contacts here that take care of all that for me.

Thanks, and feel free to contact me for any specific information.

Another thing worth mentioning is the "parts stash" the Bruners have accumulated over the years.

They're likely to have or know where to get most of what you might need.

Rob,
this is very true we do have quite a large stash of parts mostly Mopar and mostly A body and slant 6 stuff. However we do have several v8 parts and some other body styles. We lost several parts to the recent garage fire that we had but still have a barn full of stuff and several other little buildings with things in them.

For anyone that might be interested in having any work done I will be off from my full time job starting June 1st until Middle of August.

I am off this time every year. I am looking for some more work to do during this time so if you are interested get ahold of me to make arrrangments.

Of course... we do this type of work all year long, in this time period, progress will move a little faster.

Lukus
