Got a few questions for a rebuild I'm planning, so I'll try to keep 'em as organized as possible
1) What's my best source for a set of forged, low compression pistons? I want lower compression since I plan on doing an EFI conversion and then turbo down the road. Actually, I can use high compression pistons in the meantime to get a little better performance until then, so how about a source for high compression pistons? :p
2) What's the absolute best brand of piston rings to get?
3) I think the valves are pretty burnt, so I'd like to replace them at the same time. Best brand/source?
4) Due to the EFI conversion, I'm told that the mechanical lifters will confuse the knock sensor, so I'd like to switch to hydraulic lifters in preparation, while I have the engine torn apart. Is it a direct replacement, or are there other parts I need to change out to do it?
5) Also in preparation for adding the throttle body when I do EFI, I want to go ahead and install a 2BBL intake, so what's a good, inexpensive carb to use in the meantime?
