Post subject:  When did the steering column casing change in late A-bodies?

Well the Spearmint Duster got her clutch pedal and steering column installed today...

Very interesting lesson today, I had 5 columns to play with trying to get the better looking parts together...

It looks like the column casing and floor pan mounting parts were the same from 1967-1973 (wiring is definately different through the years). My 1974-1976 column have a different mounting method for the column that does away with the column collar that bolts to the firewall plate...

It also looks like the '73 has the same wiring pattern as the '74 (oddly the moparts schematic says something is slightly different...but when I tore the column down the '74 and '73 matched perfectly...) It also looks like the turn signal wiring harness became standardized in 1973 and was used until the end in 1976 (the ignition switch harness is a different story...the red and black wires became separated off the main harness in the '76.

Made for an interesting afternoon...
