Post subject:  exhaust gasket/carb ports

where can I get a good gasket for the head pipe to exhaust, my exhaust manifold is a little warped , can't seal with the thin gasket that comes with the intake/exhaust kit. My carb has 3 ports one goes to the dist. there is one on the back of the choke, and one on the side towards the valve cover. I would take pics , but don't know how to post, thanks in advance Jim.

Hi JimD, Reed already gave you the address to the best gaskets, so my contribution is about posting pictures. I just presented this recipe in another post, so I just copied it from there, here goes:

Loading pics is described in this forum thread. Basically you do the same as when posting a link:

You need a place to store your pics, and you need to remember to set the permissions so that people can view them. Then in a post you write:

Image

or

[img]http://www.my-picture-storage-address.com]You%20can%20add%20a%20text%20for%20the%20picture%20here[/img]

Just remember: NO SPACES anywhere, except between the words in the describing text.

Hitting the 'enter' key between the picture addresses will place a new picture under the previous, only hitting the 'space' bar will place them alongside the previous (if room).

Before uploading a picture to a storage place, remember to scale the picture to 400x300 pixels, or else the forum will slow down. Clicking, or double clicking on a picture will usually give you info on the resolution, opening it in some kind of picture/paint program usually have a menu option to 'scale' it. Just enter the new values and 'save as', that way you save a copy, and keep the original image in it's original resolution.

Go to the FAQ in the 'engine' section, there you'll find links to all available info on your carburetor (all red colored text are clickable links), as well as most other topics relevant to your engine. You should also make yourself familiar with the articles; follow link in the same FAQ, or from the home page.
There are similar FAQ's in the other sections too.

There is more than 50 years of accumulated info and tips on every aspect of these engines and cars in this forum, so you could perhaps make it a habit to look for info in the FAQ's before asking, it is most likely covered there. You also have a very powerful search function available at your fingertips. Happy hunting! :D
