With the demise of Gateway, an Indiana racer has taken over the reigns of MMW and moved it to Indy. Dates are September 23,4,5. I have been contacted by said promoter and asked if there is any interest in a Slant race. If you're interested let me know by the weekend and I'll get back to him. If we have some interest I'd be up for a return to MMW now that it is away from Gateway.

i have a fairly stock dart, super six, bigger exhaust and glasspack, hei, discs, i wouldnt mind running down the track a few times to get an idea of what it can do as it sits. looked up the NHRA track guidelines, looks like im fairly good to go if i cut back on the amount of rubber fuel lines, i think i have more than 12 between the tank and metal line on the rear, never mind the front...hmm
any idea how much it would be for a slant category?

Biggest thing I need would just be a head count of interested parties.

Car type is irrelevant just as long as it is Slant powered. Stock driver type Slant cars make up the majority at races most of the time.

Entry is usually around the $50 level.

It is the weekend before Clay City, no? I am interested, in principle, but probably only 50% chance given the timing... We'll see how much I feel like driving.

Very understandable Lou.

Given the $4+ price of gas I am seriously considering staying home from Kearney. That's going to be close to $550 in just gas for me.

Also understandable. I hope Neal and I can get the 68 Dart turbo finished up and tuned the week before Kearney.

Anybody have a set of requirements to run there?

My guess is you just need to pass NHRA tech.
