im thinking of buy a 1965 dodge dart and using it as daily driver.
can these be reliable daily drivers.

Yes. They were daily drivers when first built, so they can be again, provided they are in good enough shape. The condition is the critical issue.

What condition is the one you are thinking of buying in? How much are you willing to spend on repairs and upgrades? Those are the critical questions. Another thing to keep in mind is that a 1965 Dart was built in a time when car owners were expected to do far more maintenance and understand how their car worked much more than today. Are you willing to learn how to do basic maintenance and then perform basic maintenance?

I've been daily driving my Duster for 10 years now. One thing I've learned is to never get cheap on parts if this is your only mode of transportation. Never buy remanufactured or crappy used parts. Trying to save $50 here and there is the difference in being without a car for a few days and never having to worry about that part again.

The good news is 65 Darts come cheap. You can buy one for $500, put $2000 worth of work into it and have a nice driver if you can do the work yourself. If you have to pay a mechanic to do the work, then it's not worth it at all.
