Post subject:  new member needing help, what carb do i have?

hi everyone, i am a new member and have had a 3 slant 6 trucks over the years. Right now i have a 78 warlock with a slant 6 with AC. i cant seem to find out what carb i have on it, i cant see where is says holley or carter, its a 1bb carb. some numbers on it are 5RS311, 4095932, 8727, 0649, 12R-684513 and on that sticker it says 4095932, 8727. i want to try rebuilding it or find another carb to rebuild that will work. my truck needs a overal tune up but right now its going through fuel like crazy and smells like gas very bad while driving. any help would be great so i can buy a kit

And a new brass float, Walker # 100-48. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.

You'll also want to get the three books described in this thread as quickly as you can.

Always try your local supply first. Even if it costs a bit more, you support local business. In a pinch, it's best to have a local supply of parts.

If your FAPS can't supply it, then go to the internet.
