Hello

Can i swap crankshaft from 73` 225 engine to 77` 225 slant six?

No. The '73 will have a forged crank and the '77 will be cast. The width of the rods/mains are way different. :(

Unless someone had already swapped the engine in one or the other of the cars your working on.

Do some searching and learn the defference between the forged crank early engines and the later cast crank engine then you will know what can be done. Both good engines and either will work for a build but you cant swap many parts between them.

What are you trying to do?

You have excellent build possibilities with either block, you just cant share short block parts between them.

I have a 73` engine which was left outdoors for a long time without a block head a thus it became rusted. But the crankshaft is in good condition. And crankshaft of my 77' engine needs to be repaired

Since you are from Russia, we really don't know where the engine/car was built. The years and differences of the engines may not be the same as the north american engines. I would suggest you remove the main/rod caps and compare the size of the bearing journals. If they are the same you can swap cranks. If they are different you cannot swap. The difference is very obvious.

Main bearings are identical, connecting Rod Bearings are different. Will the crankshaft fit on my block if I rearrange connecting rods from old engine?

I would think that would work, anyone else agree or disagree ??

'77 doesn't necessarily mean cast-crank. I know, because I have a '77 engine with a forged crank.

How are the rod bearings different? Diameter, or width?

I would check the width of both sets of main bearings very carefully. The aftermarket parts books (in the US) list conn rod set & main set for forged crank & different rod set & main sets for cast crank.

As I recall (and I could, I say I COULD be wrong) Chrysler made both mains & rods on cast crank eng not as wide- they were worried that cast would be too "weak" so they added more material to the crank (bigger cross sections between each throw)so there was less room (length-wise) for the bearings.

Take a closer look at the width of the #3 main bearing... and measure it's width.
It will be the same diameter but one is likely wider then the other. If this is the case, the cranks will not swap with-out some special machine work on the forged crank block's # 3 main bearing "saddle".
