 Update.. As the proud Dad (of PlumCrazy71), I thought I'd drop a note here to let you know that his Purple People Eater took 1st place in the /6 class at the Mopar Unlimited NW chapter Spring Roundup! The warmed /6 was a huge hit and the car looks so cool! I know he sincerely thanks all of you for your help during the build. >Thom

Well Al you asked for an update here it is: Clifford manifold/headers dropped after headers did not clear steering linkage and I wasn't going to run a stock exhaust. I am running a Super Six setup instead! The car is finally on the ground and man does she llok mean! I used most of the Volare clutch linkage, have to modify one hole on the pivot bolted to the bell housing. DusterTeen08, It looks real nice and clean! If you have a bunch of assembly lube in there, run your cam in, and change the filter. Standard practice anyway. Then stick a Wix on there. Next time you see a Fram, just say, "No thanks, I don't want it to quit!" If you just rebuilt the engine, that oil change interval should be 100 miles or less. I vote less. RPM limiting is a good idea when new parts are in use. Wait till the engine is broken in to flail on it. A good round number is 1000 miles. I know how hard it is to keep those over-eager tootsies from mashing the throttle. It's all worth it!Tight tolerances can create a lot of localized heat. Make sure everything is used to it's place and time before standing on the throttle! If your breaking in, do it on Dinosaur oil, not synthetic or anything with fancy additives. Like GTX or any of the super-slickum in a can crud. CJ |
