What do you guys think? Future plans will be 1969 Dart 4 door,225(cast crank motor)904 auto,3.00 rear gear(ford 8 in) a buick GN turbo blowing through a 2bbl on a super six intake, into a stock engine, using a stock exhaust manifold, and running an intercooler. Its a daily driver, looking to be in the 13's with it.

Whats a better 2bbl carb to use the holley 350 cfm or the 500 cfm?

500 for sure, even w/o boost. Hard to get perfect cruise and simultaneous WOT tuning with that carb, but otherwise should work well.

What troubles did you have getting a perfect cruise/WOT with this carb?

I just played with jets and power valve. Get it set right for max WOT power, and you have lean cruise with a low value pwr valve or rich cruise with a high value PV. Power valve is too much "on/off" to tune properly. Problem is likely with the main air bleeds, so not easy to fix.

Hmmm.... Thats something to keep in mind. This is going to be a driver,so I want it to have a nice cruise....but also a wicked WOT...

Why are you using a 2v?

I just got a super six manifold for free, and I have a 350 and 500 cfm 2bbl. on hand. Trying to do a budget turbo set up in the future.

With the supersix manifold, you are probably better off with the 350 carb. 500 barrels will be too big for the intake opening anyway, unless you can enlarge the hole(s) by a lot - maybe not enough material there. Putting a 400 CFM throttle body off a 4.3L V6 chev or similar might work well, though... Megasquirt it.

I would love to go EFI,but like I said above, budget  So you are saying the throttle bores are too big for the super six intake? Could I not just completely open it up,it is cast iron. Get rid of the two holes and make one big hole

I would go with the 350cfm. Better throttle response and drivability. Power wise it will work, I ran 11.40's on 1/2 of my 575 Demon. That's less than 300 cfm. Good luck!!!

Ryan-

Thank for your input. I may just start with the 350,and go to the 500 if need be.
