I have a brand new brake booster and master cylinder from a 73 4 door Valiant. Will this go into a 67 Valiant with manual brakes? I believe I need the rod that goes from the brake pedal to the MC but do I need anything else? |

It'll go right in. Which master to use will depend on which brake system the '73 items are for vs. what your '67 has. You'll need new lines from the master to the splitter block -- and make sure they do a loop-de-loop to allow for flex. |

Thanks Dan, I have a couple questions. What do you mean by which master to use will depend on which system the 73 items are for vs what the 67 has? The master cylinder and the booster came off the 73 as an item and I know they were both working correctly. Will I possibly have to swap the master cylinder with a 67 with power brakes master cylinder? Also, good call on the brake lines. I've never had to mess with the metal lines before. Do they have to be custom made or can you buy them made to fit? |

Stupid Question: An actual loop de loop with say a radius of 1" etc? I don't think my car has one... or is excess piping in some other formation? |

I mean, what brake system has your '67 got? 9" drums all around? 10" drums? Front discs? And what brake system did the '73 have? You have to match the brake master cylinder not only to the brake system the car has, but to the presence/absence of a power booster.Quote: Also, good call on the brake lines. It may be possible to buy them ready-bent -- check with outfits like www.inlinetube.com who usually sell only whole-car brake line kits and tell them you're adding a brake booster and need the master-to-prop-valve lines -- or you can buy a length of steel brake line and a tubing bender from a parts store, or you can buy six feet of 3/16"Cunifer line and the appropriate end nuts and bend 'em up without a tubing bender. The loop radius ought to be about 2". |

Dan, one last set of questions just to be sure. On Rock Auto I'm not finding a 74 or 75 master cylinder for front and rear power drum brakes. They do have a 67 master cylinder listed here but it doesn't say 9" or 10" brakes. It does say for power drums though. http://cardone.com/English/club/members ... UM=10-1323 So in the end, I can match up 74 Brake Booster 67 Master Cylinder for power drum brakes Then just make the lines from the new master to the prop valve. Correct? |

Cardone is junk -- don't buy. Get a Wagner MC36439, Bendix 11573, Centric 130.63018, or Autospecialty M-83018. |

Thanks, I'll use those part #'s. Cardone looked shady just on the price alone. |

Saying that Cardone stuff is junk, well, - that's an insult to junk!! |

That's my experience -- Cardone's stuff is bad garbage, start to finish. Richard "Mopar Action" Ehrenberg disagrees with me; he thinks Cardone stuff is great. |
