Well over this last week my car has developed a very loud wine if I go over 35 mph. It sounds like it's coming from the tranny tunnel, but has anyone else experienced this? I checked things in the cabin of the car like the speedometer cable, but haven't found anything. Hoping this isn't my tranny

Check fluid levels in transmission, and rear end for starters.

I checked the tranny when it started to happen and it was barely reading on the dipstick, so I filled that back up. I haven't checked rear end fluid yet though.

As wjajr said start at the beginning. The most likely problem is the cheapest and easiest to fix. Start from there. Check the driveline bolts. Speedometor cable is not it. Also do you feel anything in the front end or steering in conjunction with the whine?

Does the volume or pitch change as you accelerate or decelerate?

If you shift into neutral at speed, does the whine go away?
