Hi all,

I just bought a pair of '70-'76 A-body bench seat tracks. I'd like to take them apart for cleaning/painting/lubricating, but I can't see any way to do this. Is it possible to separate the upper and lower tracks without cutting or bending something, or are they not intended to come apart? I can't post photos right now, but can later today if you need to see them. Thanks for any replies.

IIRC, there are rivets in the tracks that keep them from coming apart. :shock:

I was afraid of that. They're kind of rusty, so I wanted to clean them up a bit. Do you suppose it would hurt anything if I glass beaded the outsides (being careful not to blast the rollers inside), then used compressed air to blow all the dust out before painting them?
