Hi all, I just bought a pair of '70-'76 A-body bench seat tracks. I'd like to take them apart for cleaning/painting/lubricating, but I can't see any way to do this. Is it possible to separate the upper and lower tracks without cutting or bending something, or are they not intended to come apart? I can't post photos right now, but can later today if you need to see them. Thanks for any replies. Roger |

IIRC, there are rivets in the tracks that keep them from coming apart. |

I was afraid of that. They're kind of rusty, so I wanted to clean them up a bit. Do you suppose it would hurt anything if I glass beaded the outsides (being careful not to blast the rollers inside), then used compressed air to blow all the dust out before painting them? Btw, here are some pics: ![]()
