I have a '71 D100 and would like to swap in a A833OD trans. I have measured the A745 3 speed at approx. 24" overall length. I have been told that the short version of the A833 is around that same length. My question is has anybody done this swap? Should i be looking for a truck or car length trans? I want the install to be as easy as possible so if the current cross member could be used that would be great. Thanks |

You want to be looking for the truck length 4 speed OD I just recently swapped from the NP435 to the ODA833 and I am loving it. Basically on the truck version you have a long tail shaft that has a mounting pad near the very back and one near the very front. I know where there is one for sale in my area but the guy wants $300 for it. I am starting the same swap , it looks AS if I am going to have to change my bell housing on my swap and add a crossmember |

833OD uses a 727 front yoke. Your tranny? I don't know. |

you will need bell /clutch fork for 833OD m also |
