I am in the process of upgrading a manual 3 speed on my Slant Six 225 to an A833 4 speed. Will the Bell housing from the 3 speed still work and are their other areas of concerns that I need to be a where of...

Thanks, John

Depending on what year the bellhousing is, it may or may not work. Mine (1963) did not have the four speed pattern. I got a bellhousing from a truck and made my own fork pivot and ball stud mount for the z-bar. I'm sure someone will chime in and tell you which factory parts will bolt up.

It's a great swap, you'll be happy with the difference if you do any highway driving! Been a long while since I did that so can't recall whether you need a different driveshaft? Easy to tell - just measure length of both transmissions. If you currently have a column shift, that would be the biggest part of the job (floor hump, etc.).
