Thought I would make a post about some problems encountered while putting together the new motor and brake system.

First of all I had a local machine shop assemble the motor. Parts I bought include Clifford:cam kit, headers, intake...Weisco forged pistons,Romac balancer,Powerjection III system, new starter for a dakota.

Would like to point out that I don't like Clifford very much anymore. I have run into more than a few problems with them which include...The Intake casting threads for the adapter where not all the same. Some completely went through and some didn't (I'm assuming they all should be the same). Another thing is that the adapter plate sent was either counter bored incorrectly or the bolts sent where the wrong length (Should have taken pics of that),solution was to get different bolts and still had to grind them down so I would assume that their counterbore was wrong. Also the rear header was not going to mount up because it pushed right up against the bolt connecting the tranny and block...

...so I had to get a smaller head bolt and beat down the header in order to for the header to be tightened without interference. The header also came way to close to stock starter. Also had other problems with them but cannot remember at the moment.

Problems so far with brakes...Bought the booster and master cylinder through Mancini Racing and the mounting bracket that comes with it didn't fit the hump with the old manual brake master cylinder went, so the bracket had to be cut down.

Right now we are still working on the fuel system, brakes, tti exahust.

Hopefully the build will get done soon so I can start driving the Duster again back at USF.

Nice build! That sucks about the work arounds though.

I'm interested in reading the report when you get her running! I just picked up a used PowerJection 3 system and haven't installed it yet. I'd like to get an idea of how she'll run after bolting it up.

Yeah no problem. Another guy "ryandcovalt" is using it and he says he is pretty happy with it. Are you also planning on putting it on a slant?

Sure am. Its going into a 71 duster, 225 /6.

I'm waiting until I can order a pulse width modulator for the fuel system. Once it gets ordered (sometime this spring) its going in along with a few other things.
