Post subject:  steel shim head gasket

I am getting ready to remove/rebuild the cylinder head on my 1972 225 slant six. Gonna mill the head a bit, do some bowl work and clean up the ports a bit. I'd like to use a steel shim head gasket when I mate the rebuilt head to my existing shortblock. Other than cleaning the deck surface and checking for flatness (what tolerances am I looking for?), what else needs to be done to successfully use the steel shim head gasket?
I think an advantage of the shim gasket is not needing to remove as much material from the cylinder head to bump compression.

Thanks Han,
I know the head will be straight after the mill job.....gonna check the deck surface for warpage and will use the shim gasket if it is sufficiently flat....and thanks for the source, will give him a shout!
